Board of Directors

As president and CEO of SPS Commerce since 2001, Archie Black has led the company to become a recognized leader in retail cloud services with the industry’s largest retail network and more than 50 consecutive quarters of increased revenues.
 
Archie is a cloud computing pioneer and has helped SPS Commerce transform the retail industry by replacing traditional enterprise software with a more responsive, agile retail platform. Under his leadership, SPS Commerce has grown from a groundbreaking, disruptive idea into a global powerhouse with the largest retail network and the industry’s first integrated suite of products architected for today’s omnichannel retail market. 
 
He is the recipient of numerous awards including EY Entrepreneur of the Year and the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s Titans of Technology, and is a frequent presenter at industry, investor and academic events.
 
He has a Bachelor of Science from Marquette University.

Martin J. Leestma has served on our board of directors since March 2006. He served as the President, Chief Executive Officer, and was a member of the board of directors for Retek Information Systems from 2003 to 2005, during which time Retek was a publicly-traded company. Prior to joining Retek, he was Global Managing Partner of Retail Technology at Accenture from 1996 to 1999 and Managing Partner of North American Consumer Goods & Services from 1999 to 2002. He became Global Industry Managing Partner – Retail & CG&S industries in 2002 and served in this role until his departure in 2003. Since 2005, he has served as an independent business consultant.

Mr. Ramsey was the Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Distribution at NetSuite, Inc. from 2011 to 2013 and Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Distribution from 2009 to 2011.  Mr. Ramsey took a sabbatical from his position at NetSuite in April 2013.  Prior to joining NetSuite, he was a director in charge of telesales at Oracle Corporation.

Tami Reller has served as a director since May 2016.  Ms. Reller has been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Optum since 2016. She first joined the company in 2014 to lead the company’s strategic brand and marketing initiatives. Prior to Optum, Ms. Reller spent 13 years at Microsoft, where she most recently served as Executive Vice President of Marketing. She held a succession of key leadership roles during her time at Microsoft, including five years as a Corporate Vice President for the Windows division, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Marketing Officer for Windows, and Divisional Co-Leader responsible for the Windows and Surface product businesses. Prior to Microsoft Reller served for 16 years at Great Plains Software, rising through the organization to become the company’s Chief Financial Officer prior to its 2001 acquisition by Microsoft. 

Director since January 2014. Mr. Smerklo is Founder of True North Ventures LLC, an investment firm formed in 2008, which is focused on technology and emerging growth businesses.  Mr. Smerklo previously served as Chairman of ServiceSource International Inc. (Nasdaq:SREV), board of directors from 2008 – 2015 and Chief Executive Officer from January 2003 until his retirement in August 2014. ServiceSource is a market leader in recurring revenue management, increasing customers' recurring revenue, profits and end-customer retention. Prior to ServiceSource, Mr. Smerklo held executive positions at Opsware (previously Loudcloud), Morgan Stanley, and Lehman Brothers.

Philip E. Soran has served as a director since July 2010. Mr. Soran served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and a director of Compellent Technologies, Inc., a publicly traded company which he co-founded in March 2002, until its acquisition by Dell Inc. in February 2011, after which he served as the President of Dell Compellent from February 2011 to March 2012. Mr. Soran also serves on the board of directors for Hutchinson Technology, Inc., a technology manufacturer and a publicly traded company. From July 1995 to August 2001, Mr. Soran served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the board of directors of Xiotech, which Mr. Soran co-founded in July 1995. Xiotech was acquired by Seagate in January 2000. From October 1993 to April 1995, Mr. Soran served as Executive Vice President of Prodea Software Corporation, a data warehousing software company. Mr. Soran also held a variety of management, sales, marketing, and technical positions with IBM. Mr. Soran also served on the board of directors of Stellent, Inc. from April 2003 until its acquisition by Oracle Corporation in December 2006.

Sven A. Wehrwein has served on our board of directors since July 2008.  Mr. Wehrwein has been an independent financial consultant to emerging companies since 1999. He has more than 35 years of experience as an investment banker, chief financial officer, and certified public accountant (inactive). He currently serves on the board of directors of Proto Labs, Inc., a manufacturer of custom parts and publicly traded company. Mr. Wehrwein also served on the board of directors of Cogentix Medical, Compellent Technologies, Inc., Image Sensing Systems, Inc., Synovis Life Technologies, Inc. and Vital Images, Inc..
